What to Expect

Over the course of the program, you will work with a mental health professional who will teach you: 

  • Strategies to help manage stress
  • Ways to lessen the impact of physical symptoms of cancer
  • Skills to cope with common problems faced by people with cancer

Each week, you’ll learn a new way to manage your stress, physical health and relationships through discussions and in-session exercises. The program offers the following:

  • Understanding and reducing your stress
  • Learning to relax your body
  • Positive coping by seeking information
  • Coping with treatment side effects
  • Coping with common problems, such as fatigue
  • Communicating more effectively with others
  • Positive coping through social support
  • Feeling better about your body image
  • Improving intimacy with your partner
  • Increasing your physical activity
  • Learning how to eat a healthy diet
  • Learning wow to maintain your  positive changes
